Svanehøj expands in Benelux with acquisition of Dutch pump solutions provider

Svanehøj has acquired the Netherlands-based European Pump Services (EPS) BV, a company specializing in the integration and service of pump solutions for the industrial, offshore and maritime sectors.EPS, established in 1999, is the official Benelux distributor for Apollo and two ITT brands, Bornemann, and Goulds Pumps. Based in Oud Gastel, the Netherlands, with a branch in Merksem, Antwerp, Belgium, EPS serves clients across the Benelux region and beyond as a turnkey supplier with inhouse engineering and project management capabilities. The company currently employs 35 people.

“For some time, we have been exploring opportunities to establish a subsidiary in the Benelux region,” said Søren Kringelholt Nielsen, CEO of Svanehøj. “EPS perfectly aligns with these strategic ambitions for expanding our service and aftersales solutions and land-based operations in the Benelux region to better support our customers, both in terms of new sales of Svanehøj pumps and, most importantly, to service the installed base we have in the region”.

EPS will operate as Svanehøj Benelux, with the Svanehøj product portfolio and service concept fully implemented.

This is Svanehøj’s fourth acquisition in last four years, and the first since being acquired by ITT Inc in January 2024.

In recent years, Svanehøj has strategically invested in establishing global service hubs to ensure fast and efficient spare parts delivery and proactive troubleshooting worldwide. With the acquisition of EPS, Svanehøj will expand its presence in the Benelux region by establishing a new service site at the EPS headquarters in Oud-Gastel, 50 km south of Rotterdam. This new service site will allow faster service and support of pumps and systems for the up-, mid-, and downstream markets.

The Benelux has one of Europe’s most extensive, integrated inland waterway networks and natural gas remains a key energy source in the region, particularly in the Netherlands with several land-based storage facilities. With the Benelux investing heavily in PtX and CCS technologies, Svanehøj will also explore additional ways to support the green energy transition in the region by offering its pump solutions for CO₂ and ammonia applications.
