Wangen Pumps has unveiled design enhancements to its Twin NG pump, delivering higher performance, extended service life, and reduced maintenance needs for hygienic applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries.
“We are constantly seeking ways to improve pump performance and benefit our customers’ operations,” said Martin Stümpfle, Product Management at Wangen Pumps. “These upgrades reduce contamination risk, extend service life, and improve overall efficiency.”
High-Performance Hygienic Pumping
The Twin NG screw pump is engineered to handle a wide range of fluids – from low to highly viscous, volatile, or gaseous – while meeting the highest hygiene and efficiency standards. Available in multiple sizes, it offers flow rates up to 200 m³/h and differential pressures up to 25 bar.
Key Design Enhancements
1. Lantern Coupling
Replacing the traditional motor coupling, the new lantern coupling ensures perfect shaft alignment, reducing stress, vibration, and wear on the pump and motor. Benefits include:
- Extended service intervals and reduced maintenance needs.
- Smoother operation under high-pressure, viscous, or abrasive conditions.
- Improved sealing, reducing leakage and contamination risk.
- Lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and optimised uptime.
2. Hygienic Machine Feet
As an alternative to a base plate, hygienic machine feet improve cleanliness and serviceability:
- Minimise surfaces where dirt and bacteria can accumulate.
- Enable more effective wash-down and drainage.
- Provide precise, adjustable levelling for easier installation and piping alignment.
- Improve vibration damping and thermal expansion compensation.
- Save space, reduce fabrication costs, and simplify transport and handling.
Both upgrades improve stability, maintenance access, and operational efficiency, further increasing pump availability.
“The improved Twin NG reflects our focus on listening to customers and refining designs to deliver measurable gains in performance, cost efficiency, and serviceability,” Stümpfle added.
