Torishima Pump to acquire Shin Nippon Machinery from Sumitomo Heavy Industries

Torishima Pump Mfg Co Ltd has entered into an agreement to acquire all shares of Shin Nippon Machinery Co Ltd (SNM) from Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd.

The acquisition supports Torishima’s Medium-Term Management Plan, “Beyond 110,” launched in FY2021. Through this strategy, the company aims to become a business that is indispensable to society while contributing to the achievement of a decarbonised world by 2050. With consolidated sales of ¥100 billion by the 2029 fiscal year now within reach, Torishima is focused on strengthening its foundation for sustainable growth beyond that target.

SNM is a globally recognised Japanese manufacturer of engineered steam turbines and pumps, serving mainly the petrochemical industry. The company has established a strong international presence through advanced design and manufacturing capabilities, supported by an extensive delivery track record in Japan and among Tier 1 customers worldwide.

Torishima views the integration of SNM’s API-compliant product portfolio and technical expertise with its own global sales and service network as a strong strategic fit, enhancing operational capabilities and expanding opportunities across diverse business segments.
