NIBCO Inc. has expanded its large-diameter ductile iron butterfly valve range with a molded-in liner for its LD-2000 Series, now available in sizes from 14 to 36 inches. The updated design aims to improve sealing consistency, simplify installation and support reliable performance in commercial and industrial applications.
Improved Sealing and Easier Installation
The molded-in liner is designed to reduce common installation challenges associated with large-diameter butterfly valves, including liner movement and uneven seating. By integrating the liner into the valve body, NIBCO aims to deliver more consistent sealing and reduce potential issues during installation and commissioning.
The LD-2000 Series supports bi-directional and dead-end isolation, including end-of-line service at full rated pressure. The valves are rated for pressures up to 200 psi, making them suitable for demanding commercial mechanical and general utility applications.
Designed for Commercial and Industrial Systems
The LD-2000 Series features a ductile iron body with an epoxy coating to help resist corrosion. Its extended neck accommodates up to two inches of pipe insulation, while a one-piece, high-strength stem is engineered to provide precise disc positioning and dependable operation.
These features support applications involving large-diameter piping, insulated hot- and chilled-water lines, utility services and industrial facilities.
Supporting Reliable Valve Performance
According to Craig Miller, Senior Product Manager – Valves at NIBCO, the molded-in liner is intended to make installation easier while improving performance in the field. The enhancement reflects the company’s focus on providing reliable valve solutions for commercial and industrial systems.
The updated LD-2000 Series strengthens NIBCO’s large-diameter valve offering by combining installation-focused design improvements with corrosion-resistant construction and pressure-rated isolation capabilities.
