Atlas Copco to acquire Lewa and Geveke

Atlas Copco has agreed to buy Lewa GmbH and Geveke BV and their subsidiaries from Japan’s Nikkiso Co Ltd in a €670 million deal.

Founded in 1952, Germany’s Lewa manufactures diaphragm metering pumps, process pumps and complete metering systems. The company employs around 1200 people and had 2021 revenues of €233 million.

“Lewa has a long tradition of supporting customers and developing leading industrial flow technology for efficient, precise and safe handling of fluids,” said Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area. “Through this acquisition we are building our presence and technology offering within positive displacement pumps.”

Geveke, which was founded in 1874, distributes compressors and engineers advanced and complex process pump installations. The company is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has 173 employees and had revenues of approximately €61 million in 2021.

“Geveke has strong engineering capability, providing complete industrial pump solutions from concept to commissioning,” said Atlas Copco’s Walker.

The acquisition is expected to be completed during the second quarter 2022.

The main part of the acquired businesses will have its base in the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area and a smaller part will join the Service division within Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique Business Area.

The Lewa and Geveke acquisition comes just weeks after Atlas Copco unveiled
