Armstrong unveils Compass R circulator models with dry rotor design

Armstrong Fluid Technology has introduced two new sizes of its Design Envelope Compass R circulators – 40-85 and 60-50.

The Compass R is an energy-efficient variable speed dry-rotor circulator. Designed to replace existing fixed-speed circulators, Compass R can be considered a universal energy upgrade for circulators in its capacity range and installation profile. Customers can purchase Compass R circulators to serve applications requiring up to 60 feet of head.

Commenting on the release of the two new models, Tanvir Rahman, Offering Manager, Standard Building Products, Armstrong Fluid Technology, said: “The Compass R offers an industry-leading feature set including a fully repairable dry rotor design, easy access for repairs changes and embedded Design Envelope variable speed technology. The new models will make these features available to more customers and a wider range of applications.”

The new Compass R features include permanent magnet motor with Design Envelope variable speed technology; Posi-start technology that ensures smooth start-up and pump protection; bolt-for-bolt compatibility with a wide range of installed circulators; and a quick-release clamp that makes repairs easy. Additional features are reduced carbon footprint, easy terminal block access, optimized hydraulics with high-efficiency dry rotor design, and multiple control options, including Auto mode, simplify selection and commissioning.
