FLSmidth’s pump, cyclone, and valve offerings have been significantly enhanced following the acquisition of Tipco.

FLSmidth has signed an agreement to acquire TIPCO Tudeshki Industrial Process Control GmbH (Tipco), a technology firm located in Aachen, Germany. Tipco specializes in advanced sensor technology capable of measuring particle size distribution across various mass flows, presenting significant applications within FLSmidth’s Mining portfolio. Initially, this technology will be integrated into FLSmidth’s hydrocyclones portfolio. The combination of FLSmidth’s KREBS hydrocyclones, known for their high efficiency and cost-effective classification solutions, with Tipco’s sensor technology will enhance FLSmidth’s pumps, cyclones, and valves (PCV) offerings for mining customers. Looking ahead, FLSmidth plans to expand the application of this technology to other areas of the Mining portfolio, including potential uses within the grinding circuit.

Pat Turner, PCV Business Line President at FLSmidth, stated, “This acquisition represents a significant enhancement to our PCV offerings and underscores our strategic focus on digital solutions across the mining flowsheet. Optimizing the grinding circuit is crucial for maximizing productivity and operational efficiency within the overall processing plant, and the integration of Tipco’s innovative sensor technology will further bolster our capabilities in this area.”
