This decision means that no products will be delivered in Russia, and no new orders will be accepted for the time being.

Ukraine and Russia are both important markets for Grundfos. The Danish pump manufacturer has a sales company with approximately 30 employees in Ukraine, and a sales company and factory with approximately 500 employees in Russia.

Grundfos says its focus now is on its employees in Russia and Ukraine and supporting them in the best way. The company will continue to maintain its offices and factory to be ready to open again when the situation allows.

Meanwhile the Grundfos Foundation is donating DKK15 million to relief efforts to support people in Ukraine and those who have been forced to flee to neighbouring countries.

“We choose to set aside at least DKK15 million for direct emergency aid providing medical care and helping the refugees,” said Kim Nøhr Skibsted. executive director of the Grundfos Foundation. “We will direct these funds through organisations and local initiatives that are on the ground, know the needs, and can provide the most effective help to the victims in Ukraine and refugees in the neighbouring countries.”

Grundfos’s Community Engagement grants are being fast-tracked to support charities and organisations providing medical aid, food and shelter to those affected by the crisis.

“As a result of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, communities in Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova face massive challenges as they work to support large numbers of incoming refugees. We urge colleagues to engage with local NGOs who know what help is needed right away and who can deliver that help on the ground,” said Nøhr Skibsted. “We are working on fast-tracking the process for incoming grants applications from and around Ukraine, with the aim to approve and expedite grants within weeks instead of months.”

The Community Engagement grants are designed to support local Grundfos companies collaborating with NGOs and other initiatives to address challenges in their communities.
