Motion Industries, Inc. has officially opened its first Canadian Motion Conveyance Solutions shop in Calgary, Alberta. The new facility, located at 100-10725 74 St. SE, began operations on May 1, 2025, and represents a significant step in Motion’s expansion across Western Canada. As the first Conveyance Solutions location in the country, it joins a network of over 40 similar facilities in the United States, strengthening Motion’s service capabilities and regional presence.
The 9,600-square-foot Calgary facility is equipped with advanced belting technology and offers both standard and customized solutions. Its specialties include fluid conveyance, conveyor belting, hoses, rubber components, and field services. Among the services offered are full black belt installation and fabrication tailored to specific applications, including slitting, cleat and V-guide installation, flanged edges, and shop and field vulcanization. The shop is geared to serve a range of sectors including cement and aggregate, forestry, mining, food and beverage, manufacturing, and distribution.
Preventive maintenance and repair services are also available to minimize unplanned downtime, with capabilities such as belt splicing, component replacement, installation, and inspection. Motion’s leadership views this new facility as a vital move toward deepening customer relationships and delivering specialized support across Alberta’s industries.
Brent Pope, senior group vice president of Motion Canada and sales excellence, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing service delivery in Western Canada. James Howe, president of Motion, noted that the opening marks a major milestone and extends the company’s successful U.S. operations into the Canadian market.
