FIRE SUPPRESSION

NAFFCO showcases in Intersec 2017

NAFFCO, the world’s leading producer and supplier of life safety solutions exhibits at Intersec 2017, the world’s largest and most comprehensive trade and networking exhibition for the Security and Safety industries.

A leading producer and supplier of life safety solutions, NAFFCO, the founding sponsor of Intersec is presenting the latest products and trends in safety and security focusing on its smart technologies and innovations. Intersec 2017 is being held from 22nd to 24th January at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dubai, UAE.

Recognizing Intersec as an international meeting platform, Eng. Khalid Al Khatib, Chief Executive Officer said, “NAFFCO will be standing out as a “one-stop-solution” source for all types of fire protection systems. In the 1,439-sqm stand at Hall 6 of the Dubai World Trade Center, NAFFCO will showcase its wide range of state-of-the-art firefighting products including heavy-duty fire hoses and reels, fire suppression and protection systems, custom-made fire cabinets, extinguishers, fire pumps fire-rated doors, fire alarms, CCTV systems, ambulances, rescue vehicles and fire trucks as well as mobile hospitals and platform vehicles.”

In this year’s edition, NAFFCO highlighted, among other innovations and services, the newly launched Pump Cloud, NAFFCO Automatic Fuel Filtration System, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Vehicle (ARFFV), Emergency Lighting System, NAFFCO Training, New Eco-barid foam extinguisher for lithium batteries – a new type of specialist fire extinguisher for use on class D fires; SIL2 etc

Pump Cloud:

Considering the important role of fire pump as the heart of firefighting system, it should be monitored round-the-clock to ensure that it is properly working especially during emergencies. Pump Cloud is a modern and innovative system that enables 24/7 monitoring of fire pumps. It uses an interface unit connected with the fire pump controllers and related sensors and equipment in the Fire Pump room which in turn will send monitored signals to a special modem that communicates with NAFFCO Desktop Managing system through 3G or GPRS, where NAFFCO maintenance team on standby are monitoring the pump 24 / 7 and ready for action.

NAFFCO Automatic Fuel Filtration System:

Fuel contamination is a major cause of premature shutdown for standby engines, generator sets, fire pump engines, and other diesel engine support functions. Contamination starts as soon as the tanks are filled and continues until the fuel is used. As the length of storage period is increased, the probability of premature engine shutdown is also increased due to clogged filter or excessive water entrainment.

The solution: NAFFCO Automatic Fuel Filtration System. It is a self-contained, stand-alone system that removes and prevents the build-up of water, sludge and contaminants in tanks. It stabilizes diesel and bio-fuels, eliminates microbial contamination to optimize and maintain fuel quality. It is designed to fulfill NFPA requirements in maintaining and cleaning fuel stored in fuel tanks in accordance with NFPA 20, NFPA 25, and NFPA 110.

Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Vehicle (ARFFV):

Also known as the Fire Falcon 6, ARFFV is back in the Intersec this year proudly showcasing its own manufactured prototype of the falcon cabin which was successfully tested as per the internationally recognized testing E/ECE/324 and E/ECE/TRANS/505, Addendum 28, Regulation No. 29 with regard to protection of the occupants of the cabin. In the continuous effort to provide NAFFCO customers with proven and safe technologies, the requirements of the standard were purposely exceeded and the falcon cabin demonstrated excellent strength and impact properties. The roof strength was tested with 13500 kg, which is 3500kg more than the regulation requirement and the front impact test was performed at 55 kJ, against the 45 kJ specified by the regulation.

Emergency Lighting System:

When the general artificial lighting fails, orientation must still be ensured in buildings even for visitors. Accordingly, there are legal provisions governing the equipment and dimensioning of emergency lighting installations that will be activated when there is no mains voltage.

NAFFCO Provides the Intelligent Emergency Lighting Solution that ensures the safety and integrity of your emergency system with automated monitoring and reporting solution. All the products Control Panel, Emergency Luminaires and accessories are fully tested and certified by British Standards Institution (BSI).

Easy Addressing & Grouping of Lights, Sets Maintenance Schedule, Generates auto Reports by using NAFFCO Addressable Emergency lighting monitoring touch panel. NAFFCO Emergency and Exit Lights are designed with latest LED technology which is fully complying with green building concept.

Eco Barid Foam Fire Extinguisher for Class ABD and F

NAFFCO stored pressure type Eco Barid foam extinguisher are multipurpose, ideal for fires involving volatile liquids and freely burning material such as paper, cloth, wood, furniture and cooking oil or fat fires (A,B,D and F classes of fire) and is suitable for the use with most types of proportioning and discharge devices which performs excellently when used with CAF systems. ECO BARID FOAM is 100% environmental friendly free from PFOA, PFOs and fluorine.

It is designed for rapid fire knockdown by creating a film on the object of fire and in addition to this, it creates a cooling effect and acts like a fire sealant which helps to extinguish the fire faster and minimize re ignition. The environmental friendly ingredients in the foam concentrate have the deep impregnation capability when used on combustible solid material fires which makes it near to impossible for re ignition. This is important when extinguishing deep-seated fires in wood, paper, rubber, and other ordinary combustibles. It acts like a fire sealant when applied on combustible materials.

SIL2

Safety Integrity Level (SIL2) is a measure of the reliability of a system to be in operation when a maximum risk and fault are analysed based on no of floors, occupancy and in accordance to the guide lines set by the Engineer or the Authority having Jurisdiction to maximize the reliability and efficiency of Life Safety, that’s where you will need a SIL2 rated panel.

Why SIL2 supersedes the Normal Addressable Fire Alarm Panel?

  • Redundancy: CPU, I/O cards, Power Supply and Display available on the panel to ensure the continuous operation incase of one or more failures.
  • Hot–swap: CPU, I/O cards, Power Supply and Display can be replaced without switching off the panel, thus maintaining system security and safety functionality.
  • Extreme reduction of false alarms below acceptable levels out of 100 signals there is a possibility for only one fault.
  • High level of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) for the software and hardware of the system.
  • High tolerance and stability over electromagnetic noise.
  • NAFFCO Training

To increase awareness and alleviate technical knowledge on fire safety standards, NAFFCO offers training programs based on 3 main facets namely:

  • Theory. Using the classroom environment our internationally accredited instructors teach NFPA rules and regulations.
  • Practical. We offer hands-on training on all fire safety systems
  • Testing and certification. We offer NFPA certifications as well as NAFFCO certifications
