MINExpo 2021 took place in Las Vegas recently and Xylem exhibited its holistic smart water management solutions to improve the productivity, safety, reliability and sustainability of mine sites.
Some of Xylem’s featured products at MINExpo included its classic Flygt 2201, a drainage pump which can endure tough liquids containing fine rock, sand, clay, sediments or other abrasives. Also on show were the Flygt H 5100 slurry pump, designed for open aggregates and able to handle highly abrasive slurries, along with the Flygt BIBO 2830 and the Flygt 2670, which both feature Flygt’s closed impeller Dura Spin and Flygt Spin-Out to expel abrasives away from the impeller neck and seal cavity, offering high levels of wear resistance.
In addition, Xylem exhibited its Goulds Water Technology e-SV vertical multistage pump, which can withstand mechanically aggressive and high temperature liquids. When paired with an Aquavar IPC variable speed drive, it provides energy savings of up to 70% compared to fixed speed operation.
These products, along with Xylem’s predictive analysis tool, optimyze, are just part of the company’s extensive portfolio for mining operations that were on show at MINExpo and which reflect the company’s experience and understanding of how important it is to take a holistic view of the use of water by mining operations.
