ASME “N” certification first for Hayward Tyler

Hayward Tyler Inc has been issued with the first ASME “N” Certificate of Authorization covering Section III, Division 5 Class A and B vessels, pumps, valves and piping systems.

The Vermont, USA-based company has been participating in the development of advanced nuclear reactors since 2016, including working with developers on pumps and equipment for high temperature, salt-based, sodium-based and gas-cooled reactors.

In addition to the “N” certificates, Hayward Tyler also had revisions approved for its “NS” and “NPT” certifications to include Class A and B fabrication.

“This is a significant milestone for Hayward Tyler solidifying our commitment to the advancement of technologies that provide clean energy to millions of homes,” said Jeff Belotti, director of Nuclear Business Development at Hayward Tyler. “The expansion of our ASME and nuclear programs follows a tradition of preparing Hayward Tyler to serve industry’s most challenging applications using the most well-regarded design and quality standards.”

“The issuance of these revised certificates is a testament to the continuous dedication to quality that Hayward Tyler implements through our 10CFR50 Appendix B program,” said Matt Ellis, Quality Manager at Hayward Tyler. “Hayward Tyler received our initial ASME certificates in 1977 and has maintained a nuclear QA program since. Through the years we have been able to improve our quality program and now include Division 5 components ensuring we can continue to provide the highest quality equipment to our customers for the new generation of nuclear reactors.”
