Atlas Copco to buy US mobile vacuum pump maker

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire National Vacuum Equipment Inc, a US manufacturer of industrial vacuum pumps and packages for mobile use on tanker trucks.

Headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan, National Vacuum Equipment employs around 100 people.

“The acquisition will add to our vacuum solutions portfolio, allowing us to enter the currently untapped mobile vacuum market,’’ said Geert Follens, Atlas Copco‘s Business Area President Vacuum Technique.

When the acquisition closes, National Vacuum will become part of the Industrial Vacuum Division, within Atlas Copco’s Vacuum Technique business area.
