KSB GIW to Supply High-Performance Slurry Pumps for Teck’s Highland Valley Copper Mine Expansion

KSB GIW Inc. has secured a major contract to supply a range of high-performance slurry pumps for Teck’s Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Mine Life Extension (MLE) project in Kamloops, British Columbia.

The HVC MLE project aims to extend the mine’s operational life by upgrading existing infrastructure to meet the growing global demand for copper, a critical material in the transition to a low-carbon economy. The expansion is expected to produce approximately 1.95 million additional tons of copper by processing an extra 900 million tons of ore.

Building on HVC’s reliance on GIW MDX, GIW LSA, and GIW LCC slurry pumps, KSB GIW will supply an extensive range of equipment for the MLE project, including mill discharge pumps, SAG underflow pumps, tailings pumps, froth pumps, and various in-plant and process pumps.

“KSB GIW is proud to expand our already extensive installed base at Highland Valley Copper Mine with this significant new order,” said Gary Moore, Mining Manager at KSB GIW. “This contract reinforces our strong partnership with HVC and our commitment to delivering innovative pumping solutions that maximize value for the mine.”

Josh Foster, Sales Engineer at KSB GIW, added: “With our history of providing best-in-class GIW slurry pumps and ongoing after-service support, we continue to offer HVC the best total cost of ownership. Our involvement in the HVC MLE Project is another opportunity to demonstrate our dedication to ensuring the mine’s long-term success.”

Through this latest contract, KSB GIW strengthens its reputation as a trusted provider of high-performance slurry pumping solutions in the mining industry.
