Shakti Pumps Secures MSEDCL Order for 4,755 Off-Grid Solar Water Pumps Across Maharashtra

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has secured a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply, installation and commissioning of 4,755 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra.

The order is valued at approximately Rs 112.18 crore including GST, with the pre-GST work order value standing at Rs 103.01 crore. The project will be delivered under Maharashtra’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, supporting the state’s agricultural solar pumping programme.

Solar Water Pumps for Agricultural Applications

The contract covers off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems in 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP capacities.

Shakti Pumps’ scope includes the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of the systems, covering the complete delivery cycle from equipment production through to deployment.

The systems will be supplied across Maharashtra, supporting agricultural users through solar-powered water pumping infrastructure.

60-Day Execution Timeline

The project is required to be executed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed (NTP).

The relatively short execution period places emphasis on efficient manufacturing, logistics, installation and commissioning capabilities as Shakti Pumps delivers thousands of systems across the state.

Strengthening Solar Pumping Operations

The latest MSEDCL empanelment adds to a series of solar pumping orders secured by Shakti Pumps in Maharashtra.

The company also received MSEDCL empanelments in September and July 2026 covering 10,000 and 15,000 off-grid solar water pumping systems, respectively, further expanding its involvement in Maharashtra’s agricultural solar pumping programme.

These projects highlight growing demand for solar-powered pumping technology as agricultural operations seek reliable water access while integrating renewable energy into irrigation infrastructure.

Expanding Agricultural Pump Technology

The latest order strengthens Shakti Pumps’ position in the agricultural solar pumping market and expands the deployment of off-grid pumping systems across Maharashtra.

With thousands of systems to be supplied, installed and commissioned within the specified timeframe, the project represents a significant deployment of solar-powered water pumping technology for agricultural applications.
