EBARA Pumps establishes branch in East Africa

EBARA Pumps Europe S.p.A. (EPE), part of the Japanese multinational company EBARA CORPORATION (EBARA) has established a branch in Kenya.

The East Africa branch, EBARA Pumps East Africa (EPEA) has officially started operations today and is responsible for sales of pumps and irrigation equipment in East Africa region.

In a press release, Ebara states that the global market strategy of its mid-term business plan “E-Plan 2022”, is to expand to new markets as well as sales bases.

“By establishing EPEA, we will increase the market coverage of Standard Pumps business in East Africa region. In the meanwhile, in order to realize society with ample food and water as well as safe and reliable social infrastructure, we will support agricultural development providing solar irrigation system.”

EBARA Group, with a mission to deliver water to 600 million people on the globe, has committed to invest resources in areas where the growth is expected. With these initiatives, the company states that it will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing material issues identified in its long-term vision and executing the medium-term management plan to increase corporate value.

“E-Vision 2030”
In accordance with EBARA’s long term “E-Vision 2030”, the Company will contribute to create a world with ample food and water, especially in the countries that will experience population increase and economic development and the Brand aims to providing water to 600 million people in the world.

In 2021, Ebara – in line with the “E-Vision 2030”, entered a sponsorship deal with Boreal Light GmbH (Boreal Light) to supply clean and safe drinking water in Kenya through a Waterkiosk®, which is developed by Boreal Light and operated by WaterKiosk Ltd.

Boreal Light GmbH is a Berlin based company specialized on renewable energy solution for water treatment facilities. The company designs and manufactures affordable solar water desalination systems for off-grid communities around the globe. Systems manufactured by Boreal Light are capable of delivering high quality hygiene drinking, irrigation, fish farm and sanitation water from any kind of high saline and polluted water resources. EPE sponsors Boreal Light to set up solar water desalination facility including EPE’s pumps in Kenya.

Chiromo Road, 13TH floor, Westlands,  established  on March 22, 2022 and Starting operation on July 28, 2022 under the management of Samuel Kibet.
