Metso Secures €70 Million Gold Ore Processing Plant Order in Turkey

Metso has signed a €70 million agreement with Turkish gold mining company Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları AŞ to provide a complete gold ore processing plant for phase II of the Soğut project in Bilecik province, Turkey. The order includes a range of Metso’s technologies, including the Nordwheeler jaw crushing unit, Select SAG and ball mills, TankCell flotation cells in various sizes, HRT high-rate thickening units, and Larox PF pressure filters. Metso will also supply slurry pumps and gold room equipment, along with comprehensive plant engineering, installation, commissioning, and training services.

Halit Semih Demircan, General Manager of Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları AŞ, emphasized the importance of selecting the best technology for top-class performance, noting that Metso’s proven gold processing solutions and strong service capabilities were key factors in the decision.

Mert Katkay, Metso’s Regional Minerals Sales Director, highlighted the collaboration between the two companies to develop an optimal flowsheet for processing the ore into gold dore and concentrate. The basic engineering for the plant and gold pressure oxidation has already been completed, and both teams are looking forward to advancing with equipment deliveries in phase II.
