Bosch Rexroth Africa Celebrates 60 Years of Driving Industrial Growth Through People

Bosch Rexroth Africa is celebrating its 60th anniversary by recognising the people whose expertise, innovation and dedication have helped shape the company’s success and contributed to the growth of Africa’s industrial sector.

Marking the milestone, the company has released a special anniversary publication that reflects on six decades of engineering excellence while highlighting the importance of investing in people to build a stronger industrial future. Rather than focusing solely on technological achievements, the publication celebrates the engineers, technicians, mentors and support teams whose work has driven industrial progress across the continent.

According to Regional President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Riley, the company’s long-term success has been built on the commitment of employees who have shared knowledge, supported customers and developed lasting partnerships throughout Africa.

Over the past six decades, Bosch Rexroth Africa has contributed to major industrial projects across sectors including mining, manufacturing and construction. Its teams have delivered specialised engineering solutions, supported complex equipment installations and maintained critical industrial operations, often working under demanding conditions to ensure customer productivity.

The company has also made skills development a central part of its growth strategy through technical training programmes, MERSETA-accredited courses, SHEQ initiatives and youth development programmes that prepare the next generation of engineers and technicians.

One example is the success of the YES4Youth programme, which has helped develop young professionals by providing practical industry experience alongside mentorship from experienced engineering teams. Bosch Rexroth Africa says knowledge sharing remains essential to sustaining innovation and strengthening Africa’s industrial capabilities.

Beyond engineering, the company continues to support community initiatives focused on education, environmental sustainability and social development, reinforcing its belief that strong industries and strong communities grow together.

Looking ahead, Bosch Rexroth Africa expects automation, digitalisation and artificial intelligence to play an increasingly important role in industrial operations. However, the company believes that long-term success will continue to depend on skilled people, collaboration and ongoing investment in talent.

As Bosch Rexroth Africa marks six decades of operations, the company remains committed to advancing industrial innovation while supporting workforce development and sustainable growth across the continent.
